Why I love gift cards -

Well, first of all, they're easy to store. Stick one into a thoughtful card, wrap it up in a really cute way, or wrap it in a small doodle. And if you get the general idea of what kinds of stores the person shops at but don't know what exactly to get them, get the store's gift card.

My dad got me a $50 Michaels Arts and Crafts gift card, and I received $100 worth of Target giftcards this Christmas. I was able to fly home not worrying about whether presents would fit in my carry-on bags or not (I'm not fond of checking bags).

There's a Michaels in Jupiter, Florida (where my parents are), and a Michaels here in Greenville. I haven't spent the Target cards yet, but since this is an art blog, I'll show you what I bought with the Michaels card. <3

First, I got 2 colors that I already had to replace the pencils that had become too short. $1.99 each

Then I got some loop-and-eye pins to help me make earrings (I already had hooks at home :)) $2.99

I've never owned a canvas before, so I bought two. It was only $5.99 for both of these, and they're about 16x22" each, I believe. Sales are awesome.

A set of 22 flat and round brushes with a pouch. :) This was $7.99 at the register, but the label said $4.99, so I had to take out some change since I had fully emptied my gift card. :p

All 6 Prismapencils that Michaels had that I didn't have in my set. :D (there are 132 colors total, and I have a 72 set). $1.99 each

A FAN BRUSH. I've always wanted one because they... well, look awesome. Maybe I can do something funky with this. :3 $2.99

Beads for detail on a dress that I'm making (which is a surprise!). $2.99 each

A size 005 Micron! I really needed one of these because I like drawing little teensy lines. I now have 7 micron pens total. <3 $2.99

And for safe art travel, my dad bought me a tube from the post office.

Well, now that I'm all excited about having art supplies, it's time for me to go use them. :3
Bottom line: Buy your loved ones gift cards if you don't know what to get them. I have NEVER been disappointed in any gift card that I've received. You'll always find something nice in a store. <3

Miku Swimming with Jellies!

A random non-relevant photoshop doodle that I made out of the blue. This is an early attempt at a background, so it's not the best that my backgrounds COULD be. I'm proud of it regardless. :3

Uchuu Sentai NOIZ: Genom Emotion

[To Livejournal Viewers who clicked the link to this blog: Livejournal seems to not work on proxy, and I needed to use a proxy to access it from school. Therefore, I had to give a link to my blogspot].

In honor of the new Uchuu Sentai NOIZ album, Genom Emotion (being released tomorrow), I drew a little something.
I had fun with sharpies, kittens, and NOIZ. It's kind of sad that this isn't their battlesuit anymore, but I guess we'll live. Anyway, enjoy. I hope you're all excited for the new NOIZ album!

Black Rock Shooter

As promised, I scanned my Black Rock Shooter piece last night, and I am posting it now. :) This consisted of about 2 weeks of on-and-off coloring during classes and some at home (lol). Surprisingly, I have 98+ averages in all of my classes right now. Lulz.

This is small on Blogger for the sake of copyright issues that I may encounter. It is approximately 10"x11" in real life.

Opportunity!

Tomorrow is a less-than-usual busy day. This will allow me to have a wonderful picture dump upon my Blogger. The NOIZ chibis, sadly, are not yet complete, but my Gakupo headphones for my Gakupo COSPLAY are! :) Those will be posted on Monday, but I will allow you all to see a Black Rock Shooter drawing tomorrow.

I actually am forcing myself to work on art at the moment, thanks to my portfolio for applying for college! <3 Word around the street is that most state universities require around 10 pieces. I only have 6 that I see as "spectacular". Oh noes! :p
All fears aside, I will post which art college I will be attending once I get my acceptance letter (if I do, hehe).

Good night!

Oh, look!

I have discovered that I can POST a blog from the school computers here at school, but the actual viewing of my blog is blocked. This may end up working out for me, since I would really like to scan pictures and post them to this blog again.

My scanner at home has the ability to scan things directly onto my flashdrive with no access to a computer. I can bring the images on my flashdrive, upload them to Photobucket, and post them into a blog.

I am continuing on my Uchuu Sentai NOIZ chibis at the moment. The progress is slow, but it exists. I have many other pictures in the works that will be posted in this blog in time.

See you guys soon. :)

Uchuu Sentai NOIZ chibis!

Last year, after the amazing Uchuu Sentai NOIZ concerts at Animazement, a girl named Hinata-Hime (her Deviantart account here) drew chibi versions of all of the NOIZ members in their outfits from last year, when they released their Brand New World EP. Last year's outfits: here.

Upon being absolutely blown away and infatuated by their performances this year, I created chibis of my own for each of the members new outfits.

I only have Angel-Taka and Yamato done so far, but I am currently working on the others! <3

Here is Yamato. <3

And here is my chibi drawing of Yamato. :)

Here is my baby - Angel-Taka. He hugged me! Hehe. <3

Here is my chibi form of him!

I apologize for my scanner killing colors left and right. I am contemplating selling these as prints next year at AZ, and I promise that the scans will be much higher quality by that time. I just wanted you guys to have a look at these because I'm fairly proud of them. <3>
